 Bob and Barbara Hicks started Contemporary Gardens, a retail nursery, in Maitland, FL in 1972. Bob put up greenhouses in the back of the nursery and started growing tropical and bedding plants for Contemporary Gardens' retail customers. A second location for Contemporary Gardens was opened in Lake Mary, FL in 1979. This second location had more acreage, and soon had more greenhouses to grow quality bedding plants for the two retail stores' locations. Bloom-Masters, a wholesale bedding plant nursery, was created in 1982 to fulfill the growing demand for bedding plants in the Florida landscape. After nearly twenty years of growth, Bob and Barb's son, Andrew, joined the family business in 2003 and is continuing the family tradition of superior quality with top notch service.
Today, Bloom-Masters is servicing the entire state of Florida with its 11 acres packed full of quality 4" annuals. Bloom-Masters also produces specialty hanging baskets up to 22" that are contract grown for resorts and retail nurseries. With knowledgeable owners and staff, Bloom-Masters is a dedicated team to cater to every customer's needs.
